ACTIVITIES/EVENTS

At Friendship Ridge, we believe that fun and stimulating activities brighten lives, which ultimately enhance treatment outcomes. The activities department at Friendship Ridge offers a wide variety of activities to meet the leisure, social and therapeutic needs of our residents. From bingo, books, music, crafts, needlework, painting and cards, to sensory stimulation, coffee hour, dances, birthday parties, luncheons, movies, picnics, concerts, shopping and trips, our residents have an extensive variety of activities and events to participate in. Friendship Ridge also provides four special radio stations through Companion Radio with music and entertainment for senior living.

Upon admission to Friendship Ridge, every resident is assessed to determine their past and current interests and abilities. A plan of care is then formulated to meet each resident's needs.

The Friendship Ridge activity department consists of one activity director, four recreation specialists, and seven activity assistants. The department also relies on volunteers from the Crimson Line Auxiliary of Friendship Ridge to assist with many of the activities.

Activities/events fall under the following general categories:

  • Individual/independent
  • Unit group
  • Off-unit group
  • Outdoor
  • Trips
