The Activities Department of Friendship Ridge offers a variety of activities to meet the leisure, social, and therapeutic needs of the residents. The Activity Department consists of the Activity Director, three Recreation Specialists, and six Activity aides. The department also relies on volunteers from the Crimson Line Auxiliary of Friendship Ridge who assist with many of the activities.

Upon admission to Friendship Ridge, every resident is assessed to determine the resident's past and current interests and abilities. From this activity assessment, a plan of care is formulated to meet the resident's needs.

A monthly activity calendar (Choose the month and click on links above) and upcoming special event flyers are posted on each nursing unit and by the Resident's Lounge. The calendar is also printed in the monthly newsletter, "The Hilltop News", which includes additional items of interest. The calendar lists the date, time and location of the activities.

Five basic types of activities are offered by the Activity Department:

• Individual/Independent - Audio books, magazines, visits, games, music, crafts, pet visits, reminiscence, Companion Radio, sensory stimulation.
  Also visit ou Snack Bar, Library, & Resident Lounge.
• Unit Group Activities - Bingo, Sunshine Group, Sing Along, Videos
• Off Unit Group Activities - crafts, needlework, painting, card club, religious services & Bible studies, hymn sing, music appreciation, coffee hour, literary forum, resident council, sports, videos, newcomers, games, Men's Club, dances, parties, socials, intergenerational, homemaking, under 55 club, seasonal and special events.
• Outdoor Activities - picnics, campfires, carnival, concerts, gardening, beach party, walks
• Trips - shopping, luncheons, bingo, fishing, ice cream, picnics, local events
